Bike rental faq

You have to be an adult (18+), and if you are not, you must have a parent or legal guardian present and must give permission for you to ride by signing the “Release, Waiver, and Liability Agreement”.  This is standard paperwork that is filled out by every one of our riders.

In simple words,  Pula Bike is NOT responsible under any circumstances for accidents or damage caused to the renter or for accidents or damage which the renter causes to any third party or for cases of liability.

The renter should have coverage through his own accident and liability insurance.

We DON’T operate from a rental shop!
We are a small MOBILE bike rental and tours company with FREE* bike delivery at desired locations in Pula and Istria.

For the reservations within 24 hours, we deliver the bikes to the address where you’re staying or at the desired location according to the scheduled time.

For urgent requests – last-minute calls, we deliver bikes within 1 HOUR depending on the delivery zone and traffic jams.

We offer delivery service in the whole Istria region divided into 6 zones:

  • FREE       1st   Zone (10 km)
  • 150 Kn   2nd  Zone (30 km)
  • 250 Kn   3rd   Zone (50 km)
  • 450 Kn   4th   Zone (80 km)
  • 750 Kn   5th   Zone (100 km)
  • 950 Kn   6th   Zone (120 km)

*Distance is calculated from the Arena Pula.

It’s easy, for the reservations within 24 hours, you can send us an inquiry using our Rental inquiry form or can be made directly to our E-mail. We will get back to you within 24 hours!

For urgent requests please call us and provide us all the requested information.

You should bring with you a valid document (ID, driver’s license, or passport) for the Rental Agreement signing process, cash, and a smile.

To rent a bicycle or equipment, PulaBike requires a security deposit of a full bicycle cost. The security deposit is ONLY REQUIRED for a longer period rental and/or large (4+) number of rented bicycles and/or according to pre-agreed terms in accordance with the offer or Pro-forma invoice.

We are not allowed to take your document as a deposit!

After signing in, You accept FULL responsibility for rented equipment (bikes and accessories) and agree to pay for any damage or loss.

To guarantee your bike we recommend that you make a reservation in advance.
To book your bike please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will give you the best quote and help you with any advice that you need.

The full rental amount has to be paid in cash on delivery. We do not accept debit/ credit cards.
For booking, we ask you to pay in advance 100% of the Pro-forma Invoice amount on our bank account.

Yes, we have. Bike rental cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge which varies depending on the amount of notice given to us before the rental date.

  • Cancellations within 5 days of the date you are due to rent a bike, you will be charged the full hire cost, and no money will be refunded.
  • Cancellations between 2 weeks and 5 days that you wish to cancel, there will be an 80% cancellation charge deducted from your refund.
  • Cancellations between 2 to 4 weeks that you wish to cancel, there will be a 70% cancellation charge deducted from your refund.
  • Cancellations between 1 month to 6 months that you wish to cancel, there will be a 60% cancellation charge deducted from your refund.
  • Cancellations made more than 6 months (180 days) before the date of booked bicycles, there will be a 50% cancellation charge deducted from your refund and will incur a 40 Kn (5 €) admin fee per person/bike per booking.

Cancellations must be received in writing or via confirmed E-mail or fax.

Yes, in high season (01.06. – 30.09.) we offer discounts UP to 30% OFF on bike rentals:

  • 10% OFF for 8+ bikes rental
  • 20% OFF for 8+ days rental
  • 30% OFF for 15+ days rental

*NO cumulative discounts

In pre & post season you can get UP to 50% OFF on bike rentals.

For bigger groups bigger discount!

Let us know in time and keep cycling! You pay for extra days on return, so you can keep the bike until you are done with it.
By the way: long-period renters get a better rate.

We are very sorry when this happens. It does occasionally happen and it’s something out of our control. We provide for FREE a puncture repair kit and air pump with 3+ days rentals, otherwise, you can rent it and if you know how to fix a flat tire you can continue your trip.

If you don’t know how to handle the situation – contact us, we will come as soon as possible and fix it, you will be charged for the repair and assistance.

Please, don’t ride on a flat tire – this damages the wheel. If you ride on a flat tire, you may have to pay for a wheel repair or a new wheel.

Please check you’re happy with your bike before you take it. Occasionally problems do happen with bicycles while they are out on rental. If happen to contact our mobile workshop for a solution, we will come as soon as possible and fix it or replace the bike.

If we find that it has been damaged by reckless use/ theft or the like, you may be charged for the repair and assistance, as per our Rental agreement conditions. This is a rare occurrence.

Yes, we have a repair shop, with great mechanics and a range of products and services.

If your rental bike gets stolen or you lose bike accessories, such as the lock or the repair kit, you are responsible and liable for the loss, as per our Rental agreement conditions.

If a bike gets stolen you have to inform us immediately and if you have insurance at home which may pay for the stolen bike you will have to ask for a police report at the local police station.

Pula Bike will charge for a stolen bike as follows:

Basic bike = 260€ / Standard bike = 345€ / Advanced bike = 465€

For missing bike accessories, we charge the retail value of the accessories.

No, when you rent a bike you are liable for theft and if you lose a bike, you have to pay for it. The risk of theft is small when you use the locks the way we will instruct you.

We provide locks FREE of charge with every bike rental. When you lock your bike properly it is very unlikely it will get stolen.

The repair kit includes a 1 puncture kit, 2 tire levers, 1 mini pump, 1 basic tool kit 6in1, and 1 pair of latex gloves.
